ABOUT SAMANTHA
Samantha Lomelín (b. 2000, Mexico City) is a multidisciplinary artist working across plastic arts, photography, fashion, and creative direction. Her work explores the body as a site of transformation, ritual, and visual narrative. Deeply inspired by cinema, memory, and form, her practice navigates between sculpture and image-making, merging tactile materials like wire, resin, and textile with storytelling rooted in atmosphere and intuition. Her photographs often draw from the language of film stills, offering moments suspended between fiction and presence. In 2021, she founded Serena Creciente, a project that functions as both a sculptural archive and an experimental capsule line—blurring the lines between clothing, object, and invocation. Across media, Lomelín’s work seeks to disarticulate binary logics between body and absence, garment and relic, art and offering.
